Tailoring the local density of states of non-radiative field at the surface of nanolayered materials

چکیده
The ability to artificially grow in a controllable manner at nanoscale, from modern deposition techniques, complex structural configurations made with metallic, polar and semiconductors materials raises today the issue of the ‘best’ achievable inner structure to tailor the near-field properties of a nanostructured medium. In the present work we make a step towards the rational design of these materials by reporting numerical experimentations demonstrating the possibility of identifying structural configurations of layered metallodielectric media specifically designed to control the electromagnetic density of states in the close vicinity of their surface. These results could find broad applications in near-field technologies. 1) Electronic mail : [email protected] 2) Electronic mail : [email protected]

First-principles study on the electronic structure of Thiophenbithiol (TBT) on Au(100) surface
First principle calculations were performed using Density functional theory within the local spin density approximation (LSDA) to understand the electronic properties of Au(100)+TBT system and compare the results with Au(100) and bulk Au properties. Band structure, the total DOS and charge density for these materials are calculated. We found that the HOMO for Au(100)+TBT becomes broader than Au...
متن کاملFirst principles studies on band structures and density of states of graphite surface oxides
Graphite oxide constitutes carbon network with oxygen atoms both on hexagonal arrangement and the edge sites. Structural and electronic properties for graphite-oxygen complexes have been explored using first-principles total-energy calculations within the local density approximation (LDA). Band structures and density of states for the propose carbon 3D models are reported. A finite energy gap and...

متن کاملMeasurement and simulation of magnetic field strenght in the nano magnetic abrasive finishing process
Magnetic abrasive finishing can be classified as a non-traditional super finishing method for finishing surfaces with different shapes and working materials like flat plates, shafts, bearings parts, screws, tubes and many other mechanical parts that need good surface finishing properties. MAF is effective in polishing, cleaning, deburring and burnishing metal parts. The most important parameter...
متن کاملThree-dimensional chemically reacting radiative MHD flow of nanofluid over a bidirectional stretching surface
This study deals with the three-dimensional flow of a chemically reacting magnetohydrodynamic Sisko fluid over a bidirectional stretching surface filled with the ferrous nanoparticles in the presence of non-uniform heat source/sink, nonlinear thermal radiation, and suction/injection. After applying the self-suitable similarity transforms, the nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved...
